 The Family story

When one of Maidstone's top photographers links with two hair stylists the result is a one-stop image shop-and it's all in the family!
Bob Kitchin and his two daughters, Laura 26 and Hannah 23 have opened their new business
on the Loose Road at the Wheatsheaf junction, on the site where the former Pamela Lamb and Carole's Hair Studios once operated.
Bob comes from a family of photographers. The Kitchin name first became prominent in Maidstone during the earlier part of the 20th century when his grandmother operated the business.
But his father, Arthur , will always be best remembered for his photography at most of the business and society functions, such as dinner-dances, when, since 1945, he provided the instant, and revolutionary service of photo's available for purchase on the same night. Arthur
retired in the 1980s after a long, distinguised career behind the lens.
Bob worked with his family for 18months until he joined the Kent Messenger staff where he remained as a press photographer until 1993. It was then that he started his own business.
Since then he has carried out a variety of high-class work from portraiture and public relations
to weddings. It is in the latter field that he is best known and he will now run his business from the brand new studio and office in Loose Road. The other half of the building will be used by Laura and Hannah operating as " Scissor Sisters".
Couples who want to book Bob's service for weddings or portraiture can visit him at the studio
and discuss their requirements.
We have created a one-stop wedding shop. Couples can have their Hair done, beauty including make-up and nails, and california tanning is available, so the couple look their best for the professional photographs at their special day, it really is under one roof.
